Seminole county commisioners and the Donalsonville/Seminole County Chamber of Commerce announced a different type of beauty contest for the month of May, open to all ages, male or female and there is no limit to the number of contestants that can compete. According to Brenda Broome, Director of the Donalsonville/Seminole Chamber, Seminole county will participate in the Keep Georgia Beautiful Campaign with a special contest for the next 3 Saturdays, May 9th, May 16th, and May 23rd. "We are looking for teams to compete to clean up areas across the county and the winning team will win a great supper bash", said Broome.
Teams can have up to 10 members and there is no limit on how many teams can compete. Teams are asked to register with the Chamber of Commerce, where trash bags and gloves will be provided. Trash collected will be weighed at the lift station on each of the three Saturdays and tallied in the contest. The team with the most trash (no tires or household items) will be declared the winner and treated to a great supper bash.
"Working together, we can all make a difference" Broome stated. Please contact the Chamber at 229-524-2588 for more information.
