Donalsonville Harvest Festival to be held October 16-17

Brenda Broome Plans are now finalized for the 2009 Harvest Festival, to be held on Friday & Saturday, October 16 & 17, in downtown Donalsonville. The festival will include all the traditional activities with a few added touches. The theme for the parade and other activities is “It’s All About the Harvest.” Activities will get underway on Friday, October 16, with the Peanut Recipe Contest and the Merchant’s Decorating Contest.
Saturday’s activities will start in the early morning hours with the 3rd annual Joyce’s Jog 5K run and the 1mile fun run/walk. Registration forms are available at the chamber office.
Parking and line up for the Harvest Festival Car Show will be from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. on Second Street. Pre-registration is now open and registration the day of the show will be at the chamber of commerce.
The Harvest Festival Art Show will be at Teri’s Boutique on Second Street from 10:00 a.m.until 3:00 p.m. All entries should be turned in at Teri’s Boutique.
The Harvest Festival Parade will begin at 10:00 a.m. Line-up for the parade will be at the Seminole County Elementary School beginning at 8:30 a.m.
There will be arts & crafts, food, and children’s activities from 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. on Second Street and in the City Park. Continuous entertainment will get underway at 11:00 a.m. at the pavilion in the City Park.
At 3:30 p.m. there will be a Karaoke Talent Show at the pavilion in the park. Entry forms for the contest are available at the chamber office.
Saturday evening there will be an 80’s Dance Night at the Olive Theater at 6:00 p.m.
