    Three horses abandoned on Sykes Mill Road near Climax

    On Monday, June 1, DCSO Deputy Dean responded to a call on Sykes Mill Road in reference to 3 horses in the roadway. Upon arrival Deputy Dean noticed the horses were malnourished and abused. Deputy Dean then began to search the area to find the owners of the horses, who could not be located.

    Deputy Dean contacted Dream High Farm in Whigham which is a horse rescue farm. Becky Bannister of Dream High Farm took possession of the three horses pending further investigation.
