    Georgia Gubernatorial Candidate Walks Into Bainbridge

    Austin Scott and Evelyn Clay discussing the importance of small businesses.Austin Scott, a Republican Gubernatorial Candidate in the 2010 election walked into Bainbridge today. His journey started roughly 300 miles ago in Chickamauga, Georgia on June 27th and he still has nearly 700 miles ahead of him. Representative Scott plans to circle the state, finishing his journey in Atlanta sometime in September.

    Austin Scott, a current member of the Georgia House of Representatives sat down with Bainbridge Chamber of Commerce President Evelyn Clay today. Representative Scott and Mrs. Clay discussed economic growth in South Georgia and the importance of small businesses. Scott told Mrs. Clay that "small business growth is the key to overall economic growth." Later he spoke with Suzi Bonifay, Assistant Superintendent of Schools for Decatur County, about the state of education in Georgia and its importance.

    Scott, a resident of Ashburn, Georgia is one of six candidates running for the republican nomination. He has served in the Georgia House of representatives for nearly 14 years and is currently the Chairman of the Governmental Affairs Committee of the Georgia House of Representatives.
