Pataula Drug Task Force making significant drug busts in Donalsonville, Blakely and Cuthbert

On Wednesday, July 1, 2009 officers of the Pataula Drug Task Force and Donalsonville Police Department received information regarding suspicious packages that were to be delivered to 500 Richards Street, Apartment 113 in Donalsonville, Georgia. Upon learning this information, law enforcement officers from the Pataula Drug Task Force and Donalsonville Police Department began around the clock surveillance on apartment 113. Once the packages were delivered, a black male who was identified as Ashley Brown was seen leaving the apartment with the suspicious packages.
A probable cause stop was conducted on the vehicle that was being driven by Brown. Brown gave consent for the search of the vehicle where the suspicious packages were located. Investigator Hank Bagwell of the Seminole County Sheriff Department walked his drug detecting K-9, Mari, around the packages and Mari alerted on the contents in the packages. When opened, both packages contained marijuana. Also contained in the packages was coffee grinds which is commonly used to mask the odor of marijuana.
Ashley Brown, a black male who is approximately 25 years of age, was taken into custody. A criminal warrant was secured for his arrest for Trafficking in Marijuana. Brown was booked into the Seminole County Jail.
This successful operation was conducted with the assistance of the Donalsonville Police Department, Georgia State Patrol, Post 14 Colquitt, the Seminole County Sheriff Department and the Pataula Drug Task Force.
Blakely
On Wednesday, July 1, 2009 at approximately 6:30 p.m., law enforcement officers from the Pataula Drug Task Force and the Early County Sheriff Office executed a search warrant at 88 Branch Street in Blakely Georgia. During the search of the residence approximately three (3) grams of powder cocaine and about an ounce of marijuana were located and seized. Also confiscated was approximately $730.00 in cash.
Cussandra Tolbert, a black female who is approximately 31 years of age, was arrested. Criminal warrants were obtained for Tolbert for Possession of Cocaine with Intent to Distribute and Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute. She was booked into the Early County Jail.
Herman Wells, a black male approximately 56 years of age, was also arrested and issued a citation for Possession of Marijuana less than one ounce, which is a misdemeanor.
Cuthbert
On Tuesday, June 30, 2009 at approximately 8:00 p.m., law enforcement officers from the Patuala Drug Task Force, the Randolph County Sheriff Department and the Cuthbert Probation Office executed a search warrant at 91 Bright Street in Cuthbert, GA. During a search of the residence and property, marijuana plants were found growing behind the main residence. The plants were pulled and seized. Street value of the plants is approximately $2400.00. Also recovered during the search were a 12 guage sawed off shotgun, numerous types of ammunition and a small quantity of cocaine.
Octavious Reeves, a black male who is approximately 36 years of age, was arrested. Criminal warrants were secured for Reeves for Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, Possession of a sawed off shotgun, Possession of Marijuana, less than one ounce, Possession of Cocaine, and Manufacturing Marijuana. Reeves was booked into the Randolph County Jail.
Also arrested in this investigation was Joshua Moore, a black male who is approximately 21 years of age. Moore charged with Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, Possession of a sawed off shotgun, Possession of Marijuana, less than one ounce, Possession of Cocaine, and Manufacturing Marijuana. Moore was also released to the custody of the Randolph County Jail.
