    BHS Daily Bulletin November 16

    Bainbridge High School news, events, and reminders for students and parents.

     

    Leo Club will meet Thursday, November 19th at 7:15 in Ms. McElhaney’s room, we will be electing officers.  Please plan to attend.

     

    Ms. McElhaney will be collecting Senior Dues during 1st and 2nd lunches on November 23rd, also 3rd and 4th lunches on November 24th.  Seniors must have both junior and senior dues paid in order to participate in Prom or Promenade.  Any junior interested in being a part of the Prom Committee can sign up at these times. 

     

    National Honor Society will meet on Monday, November 23rd in the Media Center at 7:20 and 3:00.  Please make plans to attend one of the sessions.  Remember to bring your food donation for the food pantry.

     

    Varsity Boys Basketball practice will be at 5:00 p.m. today in the gym.  9th and JV practice will be at 3:30 p.m. at Hutto Middle School.

     

    Attention Anchor Club:  Anchor Club will have a brief meeting after school on Tuesday, November 17th at 3:05 in room 3221.  Important business will be discussed.  Please plan to be there.  Contact Ms. Colon if you are unable to attend.

     

    The Purango Staff would like to feature students with their pets.  They would really like to shoe how unique some of our pets are.  Please bring pictures of you with your pet to Dr. Chambers in room 6204 or give them to any Purango staff member.

     

    Attention Juniors:  If you intend to earn the “distinction” seal on your diploma, please carefully read page 34 in your agenda book to see what the qualifications are for college prep with distinction and/or tech/career prep with distinction.  You may want to consider taking one academic elective next semester if your schedule allows.  Contact Mrs. Yarbrough in Guidance if you have questions.

     

    Those interested in participating on the BHS Gymnastics Team should attend the meeting on November 19th at 6:30 p.m. at Potter Street Elementary School Media Center.

     

    Seniors:  The Gates Millennium Scholarship is for minority students with a 3.3 GPA and who have demonstrated leadership abilities.  See Ms. Murrah in Guidance right away to apply.  The application process is quite lengthy but it is a large scholarship.  

     

    Anyone interested in the Bowling Club needs to pick up a registration form in the Media Center and turn it in by November 20th.

     

    Attention Juniors and Seniors:  Darton College Library will be presenting its 10th Annual Poetry Contest.  Contest is open to juniors and seniors only, poems must be original work, no more than 50 lines, typed, maximum of two poems per student and must include a cover page.  All submissions must physically reach the Darton College Library by 5:00 p.m. on January 29, 2010.  The first place winner in the senior category will receive a full tuition scholarship to Darton College for Fall Semester 2010.  Prizes in the remaining categories will vary.  See Guidance for more details.
