Lake Seminole - Down 6 inches, 80 Degrees, Clear
Bass Fishing - Somewhat slow. The fishing on Lake Seminole has been a little up and down lately.
The fish are somewhat scattered all over the lake. The best fishing has seemed to be shallow around sand and grass. The bass are cruising near bream beds and can be caught using several different techniques. The best techniques I have found is to either fish with topwater, frog, or Texas-rig.
For topwater, use a Spro Bronzeye Popper in Natural Green. This bait can be fished several different ways. You may fish it with a steady retrieve with short pops, or a slower retrieve with long/harder pops. Just experiment with the bait until you find which works. Make sure to use braided line and a good frog rod like a 7'11" Falcon Bobby's Perfect Frog Rod. A Texas-rig may also be used to catch these cruising bass around bream beds. Use a 6" Big Bite Baits Kriet Tail worm in Tilapia color with a 1/4 oz tungsten weight and a 4/0 Gamakatsu Off-set shank hook. Make sure to use good sensitive line with your Texas-rig so that you can detect those "light bites". Sunline has a new flourocarbon line called Super Fluorocarbon. It has a great price and is an awesome line for Texas-rigs. I like to use 20 lb in stained water and 16 lb in clear water.
