Georgia DOT announces US 27 Southbound lane closure

SowegaLive From 8am-4pm this week until Thursday, the southbound lane on US highway 27 will be closed from mile marker 10 to mile marker 9. Georgia DOT maintenance crews will be installing a single right lane closure on U.S. 1/S.R. 27 South, starting near mile marker 9 and continuing to mile marker 10. These temporary closures are necessary to facilitate minor repairs to the roadway.
This is a WORK ZONE and extreme caution is necessary. Motorists are advised to reduce speeds as they travel through this construction work zone. Message signs, barrels and cones will be utilized to alert the public of the upcoming changes. Drivers should be aware that personnel and equipment will be operating in close proximity to travel lanes.
